East’s Dominic Webb throws for six TDs in win over North

Even when fully healthy, the East football team likes to run spread formations on offense and spend most of its time throwing the ball.

That became even more magnified Thursday night at Carpenter Stadium after starting running back Calil Burnett injured his ankle last week and was unavilable.

Dominic Webb threw for 278 yards and six touchdowns in East’s 50-7 victory over North in District 7 play. Joseph Patrick caught five passes for 124 yards and four touchdowns.

Heights Bounces back against East

East quarterback Dominic Webb spent the first three quarters against Heights terrorizing the Falcons’ defense. The senior slipped tackles, eluded potential sacks and chucked a couple of touchdown passes, to boot.

Heights defensive back D’Aunte McPhaul put a stop to that in one play.

The senior’s second interception set up the second of Rodney Murphy’s two rushing touchdowns with 2:24 left to play, pushing Heights past upset-minded East 23-13 at Heights Field.

Calil Burnett helps East beat South for first victory

Burnett had turned a play of nothing into a 66-yard touchdown, the finishing touches on East’s first victory of the season in a 27-8 win over South on Friday night at Carpenter Stadium.
